At RECCA SEWA, every festival is a reminder of why we exist — to serve silently, to support meaningfully, and to spread compassion wherever it is needed most.
On this auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and Attam, we extend our heartfelt greetings to you and your families.
As you know, SEWA exists only because of you , our alumni, well-wishers, and silent donors. Your support helps us turn pain into hope and challenges into opportunities. On this special day, we wish to share some encouraging updates and heartfelt stories that you have helped create.
- Anjay Krishna : From Support to Success (Project No. 56)
Anjay Krishna, an NITC student from Thrissur, whom we supported financially, is now flourishing.
- Currently in his 7th Semester with a stellar CGPA of 9.1
- Recently returned from France after an 8-week paid internship
Your contributions have helped him focus on his dreams without financial stress and today, he stands as a shining example of what SEWA’s mission can achieve.
- Anjana : Scholarship to Career
Anjana L and her younger brother Jithu are the children of late Ajaya kumar, a Technician at the Engineering Lab of NITC. Tragically, they lost both parents in an accident while Anjana was in her first year of Architecture at RIT Kottayam and Jithu was in the 7th grade.
The Recca SEWA Society immediately took Anjana under its wing, providing financial support for her tuition, hostel accommodations, and other educational expenses. Alongside this financial aid, we stood with her emotionally, remaining in constant touch with her and her faculty members, ensuring she never felt alone in her journey for the past 4 years .
With this support, Anjana successfully completed her Bachelor of Architecture in May 2025 and has now begun an internship at an architectural firm in Kollam.
This achievement is not just her victory, but also a reflection of how our collective compassion can transform lives permanently..
- Appeal for Abbas Fund: Emergency Medical Help
One of the most touching calls we received recently was from our alumnus Mr. Abbas (1978, Electrical), whose son suffered a severe leg injury requiring multiple surgeries.
Despite his own health struggles and years of medical expenses (including over ₹20 lakh spent earlier on his son’s head injury), Abbas somehow managed to deposit ₹2.5 lakh to the hospital but urgently needed support for the remaining treatment costs.
What SEWA Did:
- After an emergency con-calls between the EC members an urgent appeal was launched across alumni groups.
- Within days, contributions started flowing in.
- As of 22nd August 2025, we managed to transfer ₹1,51,000+- directly to his account.
- By 26th August, the total reached ₹1,74,000/+ , and EC resolved to transfer ₹1,75,000/+ and close the appeal .
Abbas and his family have expressed their deep gratitude for this timely and lifesaving support. His son, Mursal Abbas (BBA graduate), is recovering but may require another surgery in three months.
This is SEWA’s mission in action , standing by our own when it matters the most.
- CSR Project: Social Study Centre for Tribals (Manjathodu)
Our CSR Project (Project No. 57) at Manjathodu, Pathanamthitta the Social Study Centre for the Tribal Community , is progressing steadily.
- The structure has now reached the roof level
- Roofing work is the next milestone, soon to be completed
This Centre, once completed, will become a hub of education, welfare, and empowerment for the Mala Arayan tribal community. It is a living example of how alumni and CSR partners can build hope, brick by brick.
The sponsorships received so far, along with photographs from site visits, are already posted under Project 57.
But we are expecting , as well as making a request for more sponsorships and donations to complete this project
4 Onam Activity
Based on suggestion received from one of our SEWA members , we have initiated activities to check the genuineness and feasibility of the project and we are ready to go
A Legacy of Compassion
Every story above, scholarships, medical support, tribal education , Festival gifts exists because of you.
On this Ganesh Chaturthi and Attam, we invite you to reflect on the impact your contribution has already made.
With Gratitude and Festive Wishes,
Gita Ramachandran
President, RECCA SEWA

Together, as REC/NITC alumni, let us continue this legacy of compassion-led action.
This is our own project. A legacy where engineers from REC not only built bridges and machines, but also built hope, dignity, and futures.
