RECCA SEWA's Commitment to Uplift Lives of Tribal Communities
Washing Machine and Fans for Pre Metric Tribal Hostel, Mathirappally, Kothamangalam
We’re thrilled to share the latest initiative from RECCA SEWA, aimed at uplifting the social and educational standards of nomadic tribes. Starting 2023, we’ve embarked on few projects to enhance the quality of life, health, and educational needs of these communities.
In January 2024, we received a heartfelt request from the Tribal Development Office, Muvattupuzha who sought our assistance in providing essential appliances for the Pre-Metric Tribal Girls Hostel at Govt VHSS Mathirappally.
Their list included a fridge, a washing machine, and several fans to replace unserviceable ones.
After verifying the needs and with available funds, our Executive Committee (EC)in the meeting held on 9th February decided to support this cause to the tune of Rs 20,000. We carefully scrutinized the quotations received and allocated the budget to purchase one washing machine and one ceiling fan.
Though there were suggestions to align the donation with the SEWA raising day in April, we prioritized the immediate benefits being accrued to to the hostel inmates.
Thus, on March 13th, 2024, RECCA SEWA proudly handed over a new washing machine and a ceiling fan to the Pre-Metric Tribal Girls Hostel at Mathirappally.
