20 YES — 20th Foundation Day of SEWA, celebrated at BETHSAIDA, dedicated to serving differently abled girls , Konthuruthy , Thevara Kochi on 18/04/24
As we celebrate the 20th Foundation Day of SEWA, I’m filled with immense pride and gratitude for the journey we’ve embarked on.
Over the past two decades, SEWA has been unwavering in its commitment to supporting those in need, offering assistance in whatever way possible.
Reflecting on the humble beginnings of Recca Sewa brings a wave of nostalgia. It feels like its just yesterday that we a small group of us huddled together after the Silver jubilee Celebrations of the 1974-78 batch , and then exchanged innumerable emails in the Yahoo Group, discussing our aspirations to make a difference in society.
Though some of our founding members are no longer with us, their spirit lives on in our unwavering determination to carry forward our mission.
Back then, we could have never imagined that our vision would blossom into an organization capable of undertaking significant projects such as Tsunami Relief, Flood Relief, and Covid Relief efforts. We’ve provided dwellings, established palliative care centers, and embarked on numerous initiatives to support the destitute and differently-abled individuals in our community. https://reccasewa.com
Achieving 80G certification for tax relief on donations and obtaining CSR approval for our activities mark significant milestones for Recca Sewa. These achievements testify to our commitment to transparency, accountability, and making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.

To mark this milestone, we decided to extend our help to the inmates of an institution BETHSAIDA, home for the Physically Handicapped Girls , Sisters of the Destitute , Konthuruthy , Thevara Kochi , dedicated to differently-abled ladies.
Their request for a hand-powered wheelchair caught our attention, especially for those inmates lacking sufficient hand strength to operate a traditional wheelchair. We recognized the urgent need for a solution that not only catered to their mobility needs within the institution but also ensured accessibility during emergencies. Thus, we resolved to procure a hand-powered wheelchair capable of traversing roads, facilitating seamless transfers to hospitals if necessary.
It was a momentous occasion as our esteemed former president, former vice president, and treasurer graced the function today, joining us in our efforts to donate the wheelchair. Witnessing the joy and gratitude on the faces of the inmates and the institution’s staff was truly heartwarming.
Their smiles spoke volumes, reflecting the impact of our collective contribution on their lives. It’s moments like these that remind us of the power of generosity and compassion.

On this special occasion, we would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all SEWA members for their unwavering support, generous contributions, and compassionate hearts and would like to reaffirm our dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others, one act of kindness at a time.
Here’s to another 20 years of serving our community with compassion and empathy.
PS : We know that this isn’t a big project, as we are gearing up for something bigger where we need your generosity and timely support .. Yes. Do await the same
