Distribution of clothes to Needy – Oct 2022
SEWA decided to try out once again another Project which had been a real success last time in bringing out the smiles on the face
Each year, the ladies wing (Martha Mariam Samajam) of St. Gregorious Malankara Orthodox Church, Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA collect dresses for distribution to the needy as part of their Annual Charity Drive. However, they are unable to distribute the Indian outfits so collected. This year also SEWA decided to step-in and help in transporting and distributing these to those who required them in Kerala.
We short-listed 2 institutes which required such services and were ready to take the Indian outfits when we supplied them, sort and distribute to their various institutes in and around the Ernakulam district.
- CAPERNAUM at Ernakulam, run by Nuns
- SUHRUTH SADAN at Choody Aluva under the congregation Suhruth Sadan Sisters
The clothes so collected at USA were packed in 12 boxes and shipped to Cochin by SEWA member Thomas Joseph , and received by Sewa Volunteers
They were sorted, re- packed and 4 Packets were delivered to capharnaum, Ernakulam and 6 Packets to Suhruth Sadan, Aluva on 18th Oct 2022.
