Onam 2026 with a Difference: RECCA SEWA Celebrates with the Children of Sabari Balika Sadanam
A celebration of sharing, togetherness and the true spirit of Onam
As part of RECCA SEWA Charitable Society’s annual Onam Charity initiative, SEWA celebrated this year’s Onam with the children of Sabari Balika Sadanam, Kudayathoor, Idukki, a residential institution supporting tribal girls and their education.
On 21 August, RECCA SEWA presented Onakkodi and sweets to the inmates of the Balika Sadanam, bringing a little additional colour and happiness to their Onam celebrations.
SEWA members joined the children and the institution for their Onam celebrations and traditional Ona Sadya.
There were smiles, conversations, laughter and, above all, a beautiful sense of togetherness.
For RECCA SEWA, initiatives such as these are about showing up, spending time and letting those we serve know that they are remembered and valued.
Education and support for children from disadvantaged and tribal communities have always been important areas of RECCA SEWA’s service activities. Our association with Sabari Balika Sadanam reflects this continuing commitment.
The greatest reward of the day was the happiness we were privileged to share.
The joy of a festival multiplies when we make room for someone else in our celebration.
We are grateful to the management of Sabari Balika Sadanam for giving us the opportunity to be part of their Onam celebration, and to all our SEWA members and well-wishers whose continued support makes these acts of service possible
May the spirit of Onam inspire us to continue sharing, caring and serving.
Serve Eternally With Altruism
