Sewa    was initially  set up by  the RECCAITES  of  1978 batch  on 18/04/2009  and it is coincidental  that ‘The Little Servants of the Divine Providence’ as a ‘Pious Union’  was started on December 08, 1978.

The Lord had revealed to Sr. Litty  the founder of  ‘The Little Servants of the Divine Providence’ the need for  looking after the mentally challenged residents whose number was on the increase.   Sr. Litty approached the Archbishop who  graciously gave her permission to start  this as a ‘Pious Union’ on December 08, 1978.

This year  the Recca Foundation day  was     made immortal  by  donating  mattresses to this   congregation running the school for mentally challenged children.  

Our Sewa member Mr  M.K. Balakrishnan   contacted the House of Providence, Kunnumthanam .    Sr. Pavana, the councilor and  In Charge of the School, briefed them on the  present situation and informed that  they required   about  10 Mattresses. They  are  special types of mattresses to cater to children’s comfort and are made  locally each costing about Rs. 1720/-  .

Executive Committee  discussed the matter  and decided to procure 10 Mattresses and hand   them  over to the school.

A cheque for Rs. 17000/-   from SEWA account was  handed over on 18th April to Sr. Pavana . Our frst President  Mr Potti,  and Sewa members MK Balakrishnan and  Capt. Hari were present on the occasion.
